21st April 2010 J170 - The new cross hired Aircraft J170-C 24-7385 is being picked up from Bundaberg tomorrow. Karl will be bringing the new aircraft back via an overnight stop at Bourke and then travelling via Mildura and on to Gawler expecting to be home mid afternoon on Friday 23rd. The aircraft is fitted with a transponder and Garmin GPSMAP® 495 (The quick reference guide and user manual have been posted in the documents section of this website). 18th January 2010J170 - The new Club Aircraft J170 24-7314 arrived at Gawler on Saturday 23rd January 2010. Pilots should have a quick check flight with Karl to become familiar with it. It is easy to fly but can float a bit on round out if coming in a bit quick. 8th May 2008 PLB - A new Personal Locator Beacon has been purchased for 5086. The GME MT410G is the latest GPS equipped 406MHz distress beacon. The user manual has been placed in the documents section. If you intend to use the J230 on its return from Bundaberg please insure you are up to date on the operation of the MT410 19 August 2007 Glider Towing. Today 5086 did its first 2 glider tows. The initial results were encouraging. Photo's can be seen in the "Gallery" section. <> 02 August 2007A weight and balance calculation spreadsheet for the j230C (24-5086)has been added to the documents section. This simple spreadsheet can be used to calculate weight and balance when flying the J230. All pilots are encouraged to use this when flying the J230 > Adelaide Soaring Club J160 24-4925 arrived safely at Gawler on Monday 22nd January. Spats have now been removed ( for better checks on wheels & tyres) and the airswitch was fitted Wed 24/1/07.
